VIDA: Volunteers for Immigrants in Detention - Albuquerque

We are a group of volunteers who seek to ease isolation for those in immigrant detention in New Mexico and elsewhere. We do this by writing letters to those in detention and visiting them at Cibola County Correctional Center in Milan, NM (near Grants) and Torrance County Detention Facility in Estancia, NM. According to our parent organization, Freedom for Immigrants, there are still currently over 25,000 men, women, and children in immigrant detention as of summer 2021(Source: freedomforimmigrants.org).

Join us in reminding those in detention that they are not forgotten.
